Applied Kinesiology

Applied Kinesiology was developed in 1964 by Dr. George Goodheart, Jr., D.C. Dr. goodhearted observed that some patients experienced muscle weakness in the absence of atrophy or pathology. On one patient in particular he noticed that there were nodules in the belly of the "weak" muscle and when the nodules were manually released, the muscle returned to an almost normal strength as compared to the other side of the body. Dr. Goodheart spent the rest of his life researching manual muscle testing as both a diagnostic and therapeutic technique. Today Applied Kinesiology is used by Doctors of Chiropractic, Medical Doctors, Naturopaths, Acupuncturists, and many others to continue the research and clinical applications for this revolutionary technique.

How can Chiropractic help?

Chiropractic care is a form of complementary medicine that has been shown to provide a range of health benefits. Research suggests that chiropractic care can improve spinal function, alleviate pain, and improve quality of life in patients with a range of conditions, including back pain, neck pain, and headaches.

According to a study published in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics, chiropractic adjustments can significantly reduce pain and improve function in patients with chronic low back pain. Another study published in the Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy found that chiropractic care can improve shoulder pain and function in patients with rotator cuff injuries.

Additionally, a study published in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics found that chiropractic care can improve cervical range of motion, reduce muscle tension, and decrease headache intensity in patients with cervicogenic headaches.

Overall, these studies suggest that chiropractic care can be an effective form of treatment for a range of conditions. If you are experiencing pain or discomfort, consider seeking out a chiropractor to see if this form of care can help you.
